COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The 2013 Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships is a complete sellout, USA Hockey announced today. Registration for the signature event began on July 16 and the final team spot was secured on Aug. 3.
For the eighth consecutive year, Eagle River, Wis., will host the Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships from Feb. 8-10, 2013, on Dollar Lake.
The immense popularity of the event has resulted in continued expansion. In 2012, the Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships drew 281 teams, which took part in 511 games on 24 rinks. The 2013 edition will feature 65 more teams, 96 more games and four more rinks.
The inaugural event in 2006 included 40 teams and 240 players.
