COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The seventh, and most successful, Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships concluded Sunday on Dollar Lake in Eagle River, Wis. The event played host to a record 2,000-plus players from 31 states.
"Cold weather, camaraderie and the greatest sport were all combined to make the 2012 Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships a huge success," said Ashley Bevan, senior director of adult hockey for USA Hockey. "The hard work of our staff, sponsors and volunteers was the key to making adult hockey memories that will last a lifetime and keep the teams coming back to our great event."
Sixteen age divisions skated on 24 rinks spanning Dollar Lake with national champions crowned on Sunday. A full champions list by division is below.
NOTES: Ken Morrow, defenseman on the gold-medal winning 1980 U.S. Olympic Men's Ice Hockey Team and four-time Stanley Cup champion, was the featured guest at the event ...
