COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The fourth annual Labatt Blue/USA Hockey Pond Hockey National Championships, part of Hockey Weekend Across America, came to a close on Sunday (Feb. 15), after setting event records for participating teams (200), number of rinks (20), age divisions (12), states represented (24) and pucks used for the event (3,500).
The three-day event, which took place on Dollar Lake in Eagle River, Wis., featured 352 games, with champions crowned in all 12 divisions.
Among the weekend's other festivities, the Stanley Cup visited the tournament on Friday, Feb. 13, and Neal Broten, a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic "Miracle on Ice" Team and one of the most celebrated American forwards ever to play the game, addressed players and fans at the event's reception on Saturday, Feb. 14.
Each team participating in the tournament was guaranteed to play at least three games before the tournament concluded with semi-final and championship games on Feb. 15. Winners of the divisions are listed below.
